South Side Little League, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, has been an integral part of the Chatham community since 1955. Our organization is the only one of its kind in the Chatham community and provides athletes the opportunity to engage in fun, yet competitive, baseball and softball related activities. We remain a chartered member of Little League Baseball and Softball of Williamsport, PA, playing in District 7. Over time, our league has been able to visit the White House under President George HW Bush and have a stadium donated under Mayor Daley.
We are one of the oldest African-American little leagues in Chicago. We strive to provide a safe space for athletes to learn the fundamentals of baseball while also building character and teaching life lessons. South Side Little League is looking to build winners on and off the field. South Side Little League is purely an in-house little league, we do not have any travel ball teams and all of our children are from Chatham and bordering neighborhoods.
Our league requires all volunteers pass third party background checks prior to having any involvement within the league.
